GLENDIVE - Distance runner Kayla Parisien will put Dawson Community College on the national cross country map this weekend representing DCC Saturday in the NJCAA Cross Country National Meet.

Parisien met the school's national qualifying standards in her second race of the season running in 21:01.46. She finished top 10 in two meets, and closed the regular season with a lifetime best of a 20:02.3 at the 5k distance.

"Kayla is a strong runner, she is willing to listen, put in the work it takes to be at a high competition level, and was willing to trust me from the beginning in this training process," said Bucs head coach Alex Cross. "She came into the cross country season with a great base of fitness from her summer training, and really dialed in during every workout and race this season. I am very proud of how much she accomplished so far, and now she gets to show off and celebrate all her success from the season at nationals."

Parisien will compete against over 300 female athletes on the University of New Mexico Golf Course in Albuquerque, NM.
