GLENDIVE - The basketball programs at Dawson Community College have each secured home playoff games to open the 2021 Region XIII Tournament on April 1.

The Lady Bucs wrapped up the No. 2 seed and will host the semifinal game. They are 14-4 in conference and three games ahead of third place NDSCS with only three games remaining. The Lady Bucs hold the tie-breaker over NDSCS because they beat them twice in the three games they played this season.

The Buccaneer men secured their second straight Mon-Dak Conference Championship on Sunday. They are 16-2 in conference play and are four games ahead of second place NDSCS with three games remaining. They will be the No. 1 seed in the Region XIII Tournament and will host the semifinal game on April 1. If they win, then they would also host the championship game on April 5.

The game times for the regional semifinals Dawson will host on April 1 are 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Because of COVID concerns, this season’s Region XIII tournament will all be played at home sites. The higher seed in each game will be the host. The quarterfinals will be played on March 30 with the No. 3 seed hosting the No. 6 seed while the No. 4 seed hosts the No. 5 seed. The top two seeds get a bye into the semifinals on April 1st and will host the quarterfinal winners. The two winners from the semifinals will play in the championship game on April 5 at the home of the higher seed.

The Lady Buccaneers will have an opportunity for an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division 1 National Tournament in Lubbock, TX if they win the conference tournament.

The Region XIII Tournament Champion will host the Region XI Champion on April 10th in the District Championship with an automatic berth to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas at stake.
