GLENDIVE - Dawson Community College has its first volleyball win of the new season.
The Lady Bucs got a 4-1 victory against Williston State College on Tuesday night 25-15, 25-20, 24-26, 25-16. The Bucs bounced back after two loses to open the season.
DCC coach Dina Fritz said, “I loved our energy tonight. We came out fired up and ready to prove that we were better than we played the weekend before. We are a young team of all freshman and they are working hard to show that they can compete in a tough conference.”
The Bucs will take on Williston State again on Wednesday night February 3 at 7pm in Williston. The next home game will be Saturday February 6 at 7pm as well.
Haydin Henschel led the team in kills with 17 and Nicole Green added in 10. Ellie Meeks was leader in digs with 12 and Green and Henschel also rounded out the digs with 11 and 10 respectively. Seeara Wojtczak dominated the blocking with 4. Shelby Fronk led the team in assists and aces with 28 assists and 6 aces.
