Arnold, Henschel earn Mon-Dak weekly awards

GLENDIVE - The Mon-Dak softball player of the week is Riley Arnold. Arnold is a freshman utility player for Dawson Community College.

During games last week, she was 8-24 at the plate (.333%), having 6 singles, 1 double, 1 triple, 10 RBI's, 3 runs scored, and a slugging percentage of .458.

Coach Jim LeProwse commetnted, " Riley has consistently been one of our best hitters this season. She is currently hitting .357 and has 15 RBIs. She works harder than any player I have ever coached. She stays 1-2 extra hours every day to help perfect her game."

Arnold is from Heber City, Utah and she attended Wasatch High School.

The Mon-Dak Conference Volleyball Player of the Week is Haydin Henschel, a 5’ 6” freshman outside hitter from Dawson Community College.

Henschel had a great week last week as the Buccaneers played four matches in five days and went 4-0 during that time. She had 76 kills in 182 attempts with 23 errors, 2.5 blocks, 64 digs, 4 assists, and 1 ace during the four games.

In the first game last week against Miles, she had 26 kills and 24 digs and in the second game. She had 24 kills and 18 digs finishing with two double doubles in those two games. On the season, Henschel is sitting 3rd in the conference in kills and kills per set and 8th in total digs.

Henschel is from Helena, MT and attended Helena High School.
