Bozeman Gallatin's football program is in the win column.

The Raptors held off Belgrade, 20-19, for the team's first Class AA win in school history.

Gallatin started the game off in style. The Raptors called a double pass on the opening play, as the wide receiver hit Corbin Holzer wide open down the sideline to give Gallatin a 6-0 lead right away.

Austin Spangler and Belgrade answered, as Spangler found Cendric Miller Jr. in the back of the end zone to tie things up at 6-all. Bryce Mikkelson gave Gallatin a 13-6 lead after a rushing touchdown, but Belgrade's Ta'veus Randle caught a touchdown on the next play after the corner fell down to cut the deficit to 13-12. Belgrade missed the PAT.

Spangler gave the Panthers their first lead midway through the third quarter, finding Miller on a play-action pass deep down the field to put Belgrade up 19-12.

Gallatin would answer, though, as Mikkelson punched it in on the ground from 7 yards out. The extra point gave the Raptors a 20-19 lead.

Belgrade and Spangler would have a chance in the closing minutes, but the Gallatin defense picked Spangler off to seal the victory.

Gallatin moves to 1-1 on the season and will play Billings Skyview on Oct. 1. Belgrade falls to 0-2 and will host Billings Senior on Sept. 25.
