BOZEMAN -- A highly anticipated matchup between two of Class B's best football programs has been canceled.

Red Lodge, 6-0 and tied for third in the MontanaSports.com power rankings, was scheduled to play Florence, 4-2 and receiving votes, in a non-conference tilt Thursday at Bobcat Stadium. The teams mutually agreed to cancel the game due to unsafe travel conditions after this week's fall snowstorm.

Red Lodge coach John Fitzgerald said the teams were in agreement to cancel the game and that both were disappointed in that outcome. It would have been a marquee late-season non-conference game measuring one of the top teams from the Eastern B against one of the top teams from the Western B. As it stands now, both Red Lodge and Florence will have an open week before returning to conference play next week.

Red Lodge will host Roundup on Oct. 18, while Florence will travel to Missoula Loyola.
