BOZEMAN — Bozeman High held it's annual Red/Black scrimmage Saturday afternoon but missing on the field was senior McCade O'Reilly.

O'Reilly was sidelined in a leg cast from what was a leg injury sustained during practice on Friday. Head coach Levi Wesche didn't offer a timeline of when O'Reilly would be back, but it does appear the injury is significant enough to sideline him indefinitely. Though losing one of the team's star players and leaders hurts, Wesche is still more than optimistic the rest of his guys will pick up the slack and continue on with the goal of the season.

“It’s a big loss. Again, you can never replace McCade O’Reilly," said Wesche. "You know, we are very lucky we got a couple guys to fill in. I still believe that this team was set to do a lot of things. He wasn’t the only one in the weight room all summer. All these kids were working pretty hard. So we think we have some weapons still, but yeah, you can't really replace him.”

O'Reilly has committed to continue his career at Montana State.

Bozeman opens up its season at Kalispell Flathead on Aug. 30.
