ALBERTON — Alberton-Superior’s impressive start to the 2019 8-Man football season continued Friday night as the Mountain Cats pulled away from Thompson Falls for a 57-38 win.
The teams traded scores in a competitive first half, using their running games to move the ball up and down the field only to frequently go to the air in the red zone. Alberton-Superior scored first to take an 8-0 lead, and the lead gradually grew to 32-22 by halftime.
Bryan Mask had another solid game for the Mountain Cats, finding teammates Kyler Francis and Jake Calloway for scores to help Alberton-Superior push its lead to double-digits in the second and third quarters.
The Mountain Cats were able to pull away in the second half for the 57-38 win to move to 3-0 on the young season. Thompson Falls falls to 2-1 on the season.
