6-Man football roundup: Noxon blasts Sheridan in key 6-Man West showdown

NOXON -- Noxon defeated Sheridan 49-8 in a pivotal 6-Man West showdown on Friday night, as the Red Devils improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in league play. The Panthers fell to 3-2, 0-1 with the defeat.

Rylan Weltz and Josh Baldwin both rushed for two touchdowns for Noxon, which opened a 43-8 lead at halftime, despite leading only 14-8 at the end of the first quarter. Both of Baldwins touchdowns, runs of 30 and 7 yards, came in the second quarter as the Red Devils flexed their muscles to keep pace with Hot Springs (4-0, 0-0) in the 6-Man West. The Savage Heat are at Valley Christian (1-3, 0-0) on Saturday night.

Another key game Friday night saw Jordan edge 6-Man East rival Richey-Lambert 45-42 in thrilling fashion. The Mustangs (4-1, 2-0) saw key contributions from the Murnion boys -- Cole, Dawson and Keenan. It was the second straight defeat for Richey-Lambert (3-2, 0-2) which fell to league-leading Wibaux (3-0, 2-0) last weekend.
