6-Man football roundup: Big Sandy opens with dominant showing

BIG SANDY -- Kade Strutz ran for four touchdowns as Big Sandy opened the season with a 47-6 win over Valier in 6-Man football action on Friday.

The Pioneers figure to be one of the 6-Man favorites this fall, and they flexed their muscles on Friday. Strutz scored on a 17-yard run in the first quarter before Big Sandy blew the game open in the second. Kody Strutz had a hand in two touchdowns in the period -- a 9-yard pass to Parker Proulx and a 25-yard run -- and Kade Strutz added another score to make it 29-0 at halftime.

Kade Strutz added a 34-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and then got into the action on defense, returning an interception 56 yards for another TD. He added his fourth rushing touchdown, a 33 yarder, in the fourth quarter to make it 47-0. Kade Strutz finished with 117 rushing yards on 11 carries and 49 receiving yards on four catches.

Kody Strutz had three carries for 17 yards and one touchdown and was also 8-of-11 passing on the night for 102 yards and another score.

Cam Stoltz threw a 17-yard pass to Brett Stoltz for Valier's only points later in the fourth.
