6-Man football playoffs roundup: Westby-Grenora routs Power-Dutton-Brady

POWER -- Ridge Sargent scored three touchdowns in helping Westby-Grenora rout Power-Dutton-Brady 50-0 in the first round of the 6-Man football state playoffs Saturday.

Westby-Grenora, the No. 3 seed out of the ultra-competitive East, scored three touchdowns in the first quarter to stun Power-Dutton-Brady, the second seed out of the North, with a quick 22-0 lead. Darian Holecek and Jared Muller scored the first two TDs on short runs before Sargent kicked off his strong day with a 49-yard score.

Sargent added a 5-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 17-yard TD in the third as Westby-Grenora cruised to the upset win. Maller added another TD in the third and Aiden Harbin put the final points on the board in the fourth.

Westby-Grenora will stay on the road in the second round of the playoffs, next traveling to Hot Springs after the Savage Heat pulled away for a 47-18 win over Harlowton-Ryegate on Saturday. Hot Springs is undefeated and the No. 1 seed out of the West.
