BOZEMAN – Montana State third-year head coach Daniel Jones has released the 2019 Bobcat Volleyball home schedule. Nine Big Sky Conference matches, along with a non-league encounter with Seattle U highlight events in Shroyer Gym.

“We’re excited to be hosting ten matches in Shroyer Gym this fall,” Jones said. “Montana State is one of the toughest venues in the Big Sky Conference and our crowd is second to none. Last year’s Brawl of the Wild match against Montana was a sell-out and the largest crowd to witness a Big Sky match. And, that is a testament to our fans and their loyalty to our program.”

Montana State recorded five matches with over 1,000 in attendance. The rest of the Big Sky Conference, combined, saw four matches with 1,000 or more. MSU’s largest attendance of 1,500 fans saw the Bobcats defeat rival Montana 3-0 on Oct. 23.

In all, four Big Sky schools – Montana, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Portland State – witnessed their largest crowd in league play within the confines of Shroyer Gym.

“We are on the cusp of doing some great things at Montana State,” Jones said. “The program is on the rise, and part of that is due to our fan base. We’d like to sell-out Shroyer for all of our home matches.”

MSU will play its lone non-conference match in Shroyer Gym on Sept. 17 against Seattle University at 6 p.m. Home Big Sky matches include UI, EWU, Weber State, Idaho State, Sacramento State, UM, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. The only league school the Bobcats won’t host is Portland State.

The Brawl of the Wild match is slated for Oct. 29.
