Montana State Bobcats’ Claire Lundberg named player of the week

OGDEN, Utah – Claire Lundberg’s stellar shooting led Montana State to two wins in the Preseason WNIT and the #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week award.

Lundberg opened with 28 points against Delaware on 8-13 shooting from the field. The senior also recorded six rebounds and a steal to help Montana State knock off Delaware 69-60.

Lundberg followed up with another terrific outing totaling 26 points on 8-8 shooting including four triples in 30 minutes of action versus Texas State. Lundberg tacked on six rebounds and two steals to her stat-line as Montana State earned a come-from-behind 67-59 victory over the Bobcats.

Lundberg averaged 27 points and six rebounds on 76.2 percent shooting for the week. The native of Andover, Minnesota, also hit all 17 free throw attempts over the two-game stretch for the Bobcats.

This is the first career Player of the Week award for Lundberg. Lundberg is the first Montana State player to earn the weekly accolade since Peyton Ferris back on March 4, 2017. Montana State returns to action on November 27 against Wyoming.
