BOZEMAN — After a month-long travel-heavy schedule, the Montana State Bobcats were able to open up Big Sky Conference play at home this past weekend.

Montana State is now 1-1 in the conference after beating Portland State and dropping one to Sacramento State. Monday night they loaded the bus to head west for the biggest game in the conference, and in Montana, against the Montana Grizzlies.

Head coach Daniel Jones knows the weight of the in-state rivalry and that a team’s record doesn’t necessarily matter heading into Cat-Griz.

“In my four years here, you can say it’s another match, but the reality is a Cat-Griz contest, the ‘Brawl of the Wild,’ is a brawl,” Jones said in his press conference on Monday. “It doesn’t matter what your record is going in, your health situation going in, it’s a brawl and we have to trust our training, our team, our scouting report.”

Tuesday’s volleyball match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Dahlberg Arena.
