MISSOULA – Griz Nation is itching to get the 2018 football season started, and it’s not too far away. With this season obviously comes some added excitement and expectations for Montana as Bobby Hauck is back for his second stint as head coach.

With Hauck comes a new staff assembled by the head man himself, one of those newcomers being Kent Baer the defensive coordinator. Baer comes from UNLV with nearly 45 years of coaching experience serving for nine different FBS programs.

Why did Baer choose to follow Hauck to Montana?

“Coach Hauck and Montana football. I’ve heard about it for years. I grew up in the Mountain West, I grew up in northern Utah,” Baer said. “I’ve known Coach Hauck a long time and this program has been historical for the fan base and the wins they’ve had. It was because of Coach Hauck and just the tradition of this place.”
