BOZEMAN – Montana State University head basketball coach Brian Fish announced on Tuesday that assistant coach Eric Jackson would not be returning to the Bobcats for the 2018-2019 season. The reason for the departure has not been released.

“I want to thank Eric for his service to the Bobcat basketball program,” Fish said in a press release. “I wish him the best of luck in the future.”

Jackson spent two years with the Bobcats after spending 10 years at the University of Portland working under Eric Reveno. Prior to his stint with the Vikings, Jackson worked at the University of Utah under head coach Rick Majerus, who, just a season before Jackson’s arrival, led the Utes to a runner-up finish in the NCAA tournament.

Fish and his team have already started the search to fill the open assistant coaching position.
