BOZEMAN — Montana State was given the higher seed heading into the MCLA Division II National Tournament and the Bobcats played like it, scoring four of the first five goals in a big 17-11 win over the 10th-seeded Dayton Flyers on Monday afternoon.
Montana State scored six goals in the first quarter in a big day offensively. Louis Richman led MSU with four goals, while Alexander Brown notched three and an assist for four points of his own on the day.
Goalie Colin Schriever made 14 saves in net to pick up the win.
The win puts the Bobcats in the national quarterfinals, where they will face second-seeded North Dakota State on Tuesday.
