BOZEMAN – Bobcat Athletics has signed a new agreement securing Under Armour as the department’s official shoe and apparel partner through the summer of 2023, MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello has announced.

The contract increases annual product allotment nearly two-and-a-half times, and covers each of the University’s varsity athletic teams. It includes two option years, and provides Montana State’s branding efforts strong local and national platforms.

“We’re excited to continue our relationship with Under Armour,” Costello said. “This partnership offers Bobcat Athletics consistent branding with the inclusion of all our athletic programs, and it aligns two great brands in MSU Athletics and Under Armour. This also allows us to continue our great relationship with Universal Athletic, which has such a tremendous presence throughout our state and region.”

In addition to the five guaranteed years, the contract also features two option years (2023-24 and 2024-25). Costello is pleased with the stability and growth potential the contract brings to MSU’s branding and apparel efforts. “Under Armour is committed to offering innovative products that maximizes performance of student-athletes. We share that same commitment as a department in our support of the academic, athletic and social development of our student-athletes,” he said, “and I’m excited for that our relationship to continue.”

Montana State remains Under Armour’s lone Division I partner in the Treasure State, and is among a large number of Division I partners that span all geographic regions and major conferences. Bryce Harper, Clayton Kershaw, Lindsay Vonn, Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, Cam Newton and Jordan Spieth are among the many noteworthy athletes that endorse Under Armour, which was founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank to produce gear engineered to keep athletes cool (HeatGear) and warm (ColdGear), as well as dry and light (AllSeasonGear) when conditions are less extreme. Under Armour’s aim is to inspire athletes with performance solutions, with a mission of making all athletes better.
