HELENA – Wednesday was national signing day across the country, where thousands of high school athletes will put pen to paper and officially agree to take their talents to the college level. And at Helena Capital three Bruins are making the jump to the next level.

Running back Seth Schneider is heading out of state and heading to the University of Idaho and their Montana heavy coaching staff. Lineman Trevor Welnel is staying in state and heading to play for the Griz and Tight End Matt Culpon is staying in the Capital City and playing for the home town Fighting Saints. Lineman Justin Jenks is headed to Colorado State University-Pueblo and wide receiver Conor McCarvel to Dickenson State.

“You know a lot of these kids have put in a lot of time,” said Capital head coach Kyle Mihelish. “They bought into, you know, what it takes to get to the next level. That means a lot of hard work in the weight room. A lot of hard work in the classroom. A lot of hard work obviously on the field of play. I think these guys have been projected to possibly go play college football for the last couple of years. This is anywhere from a two to three year process anymore. The college coaches will come down and you have your prospects list and you share those with those guys when these guys are going into their junior season.”
