BOZEMAN – When Delany Junkermier is on the court, the Montana State Bobcats become extremely dangerous. The 6-foot senior is a threat on both sides of the floor, with the ability to drive in and score, hit the outside shot, and play lock-down defense.
In her final season in the Big Sky Conference, Junkermier has upped her game. The Spokane guard is averaging 18.4 points in five conference games. In MSU’s 85-50 win over Sacramento State, Junkermier dropped 23 points. When she is on her game, the team feeds off her energy, rising their level of play.
“I think it was really good, got a lot of confidence back with our girls. Obviously the Portland State game was a tough one, so just to be able to bounce back like that just shows the growing maturity of this team, and I think that’s huge during this conference (schedule),” said Junkermier. “There’s going to be ups and downs, and we just have to fight through the adversity and continue going through the conference.”
The Bobcats will take their home court Saturday Jan. 20 for what could be the most important game of the season against the University of Montana. Tipoff is a 2 p.m.
