BOZEMAN – The Montana State Bobcats women’s basketball team got back on track over the weekend, crushing Sacramento State by 35 points. Now the Bobcats are .500 (3-3) in the Big Sky Conference, and they play host to the league-leading Montana Lady Grizzlies on Saturday.
Montana is 5-1 in conference play, tied with Northern Colorado at the top of the standings. But the Bobcats are confident and bringing that same energy from the Sac State game into Cat-Griz.
“I think momentum — bottom line, you want to start off strong and you want to finish strong and in between you want to be consistent, so for us it’s just a matter of continuing to get better at what we do,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford.
If the Bobcats want to come away with a victory, a few things need to happen.
“I think our ball movement is very important,” said Binford. “I think our defense has been shown to be one of the most valuable portions on rebounding. And if we can do both of those things, I like our chances.”
Montana State and Montana tip off at 2 p.m. Saturday inside Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
