MISSOULA – Bobby Hauck has already added 15 new recruits to the Montana Grizzlies’ roster, but another player appears on his way to UM that the new head coach knows very well. It looks like Robby Hauck will transfer to Montana from Northern Arizona.

The head coach’s son redshirted last year with the Lumberjacks. No official announcement can be made about the transfer until the younger Hauck enrolls at Montana later in January, but Robby calls himself a Griz defensive back on his Twitter page.

The safety chose NAU after a great high school career in San Diego. He set a school record and ranked third in the state of California with more than 170 tackles during his senior season.

By rule, Hauck would have to sit out another year and wouldn’t see the field until 2019 as a sophomore. But because his dad just took the Montana job, Hauck could appeal to the NCAA to try to suit up right away.
