LAVINA — Froid-Lake’s 24-game 6-Man winning streak is now history.

Kade Erickson, along with cousins Hank Tuszynski and Connor Glennie, spearheaded an offensive eruption and Broadview-Lavina went on to hand the two-time reigning state champions their first loss since 2019, 52-6.

The Pirates opened the scoring with a 43-yard touchdown run by Glennie to take an 8-0 lead early in the first quarter. The Pirates continued their hot start a couple minutes later when Glennie caught a 13-yard TD pass from Erickson.

The lead grew later in the opening quarter, as Tuszynski’s 3-yard scoring run made the score 20-0. Tuszynski got in the end zone again when Erickson hit him with a 2-yard TD pass, and Erickson later connected with William Sanguin for a 43-yard scoring strike as the lead grew to 34-0.

The score was 40-0 later in the second quarter after Erickson and Tuszynski hooked up again, this time on a 25-yard touchdown pass. In the third quarter, Glennie punched one in from 1-yard out to extend the advantage further.

After a long catch-and-run for a touchdown by the Redhawks, Wyatt Downs ran for a TD to put Broadview-Lavina up 52-6.
