OGDEN, Utah — After averaging 27.5 points on a sizzling 68.0 shooting percentage, Montana junior guard Michael Oguine has been named the Big Sky Conference Ready Nutrition Player of the Week. The Grizzlies earned a second-straight weekly honor from the league after junior forward Jamar Akoh was tabbed the player of the week last week.

Oguine erupted for a career-high 39 points Saturday in a 92-89 win at Portland State, the second-highest scoring output in the Big Sky this season. The Chatsworth, California, native scored 24 points in the second half to help the Grizzlies overcome a six-point halftime deficit en route to improving to 6-0 in Big Sky play and remaining atop the league standings. Oguine connected on 12-of-17 from the field and 12-of-16 from the charity stripe with a trio of three-pointers. His 39 points were the most by a Grizzly since 2010.

Oguine added 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four steals in a 78-66 victory Thursday over Sacramento State to begin Montana’s West Coast road trip.

On the week, Oguine shot 17-of-25 while averaging 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists along with his 27.5 points per game.
