FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield boys basketball team scored the final nine points of the game to come from behind and knock off Shelby, 53-48, on Thursday.

Dawson Allen led the Eagles with 15 points with Keeley Bake adding 12. Aaron White and TJ Reynolds each had 15 points for Shelby in the loss.

It was Fairfield’s (10-5 overall, 5-4 District 1B) second win over Shelby (14-5, 7-3) this season.

The girls game was a defensive battles with steals and turnovers leading to points for both teams. Shelby (8-7, 5-4) and Fairfield (9-6, 7-2) played to a 36-all tie in regulation before the Eagles escaped with a 39-38 win in overtime to complete the sweep.
