BUTTE – A first-place finish at the mighty Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic vaulted the Bozeman High wrestling team past defending champion Kalispell Flathead in the latest Class AA wrestling polls. The rankings were released on Wednesday.

Bozeman crowned four first-place individuals at the Jug Beck – Tayt Rogers, Leif Schroeder, Chance McLane and Keegan Mulhill – to outscore Havre High 238-200 for the top team finish in the tournament. The Hawks have three of the top-ranked individuals and five runners-up in this week’s coaches polls. Schroeder, McLane and Brock Rodrigues were each voted No. 1 in their respective weight classes.

Flathead dropped from the top spot to No. 2 in the polls. Payton Hume and Tucker Nadeau remain the No. 1-ranked wrestlers at 170 and 182, respectively. Billings Senior, ranked third, has the most top-ranked grapplers with four – Alejandro Madrid, Matthew DeWitt, Charlie Klepps and Jarrett Leinwand.
