BILLINGS – With the snow falling outside, the Lady Battlin’ Bears of Rocky Mountain College heated up the gym with some hot shooting.

Rocky shot 56% on the night and rained home 14 triples as they dominated Dickinson State 92-55 on Friday night.

Mikayla Jones led all scorers with 16 points, while Alecia Chamberlin and Alexi Smith each scored 14 for the victorious Bears.

The Battlin’ Bears are now 10-1 on the season, their best start in 15 years.

The men took the court right after and the momentum carried over. Rocky ran out to a 19-2 lead and never gave that up as they led wire to wire in a 73-62 victory over Dickinson State.

The Blue Hawks closed within two at 62-60 late in the second half but Rocky closed on an 11-2 run to shut the door.

Jared Samuelson paced the Bears and led all scorers with 27 points. Austin Payne added 18 points and 6 rebounds.

Rocky improved to 8-5 with the win.
