HAMILTON – In the final game before Christmas break, one team stayed unbeaten and took over first place in the Southwestern A. The Hamilton boys beat Butte Central 58-49 to stay undefeated while also handing the Maroons their first loss of the season.

The game remained within a basket for most of the night. Butte Central held a 14-11 lead after one quarter. Hamilton had taken a 37-34 lead after three quarters. Then the Broncs made the big plays and free throws in the fourth quarter to take away the drama in the final minutes.

Carter Kearns led the Broncs’ balanced attack with 16 points. Tanner Goligoski chipped in 14, and Hunter Omlid scored 13.

Dylan Sestrich led the Maroons with 13 points.

Hamilton also took over first place on the girls side of the Southwestern A conference by winning at previously unbeaten Butte Central, 44-41.
