BOZEMAN – The Montana State Bobcats announced 16 new recruits to their team in 2018 on Wednesday during the nation’s early-signing period. Seven of the new Cats come from the Treasure State.

Recruiting in the state of Montana is the most important offseason piece for the Bobcats, and they succeeded in bringing some of Montana’s best players, like Billings Senior’s Nolan Askleson, the Class AA defensive player of the year, and Huntley Project’s Lane Sumner.

“Our objective every year is to get the best players we can out of the state of Montana first and foremost and then look elsewhere,” said MSU head coach Jeff Choate. “The bottom line is this – and I’ve said this over and over again – our heart and soul will come from the state of Montana. We may have to get some arms and legs somewhere else, but our heart and soul will come from the state of Montana.”
