MISSOULA — Missoula’s first crosstown clash of the season ended with two comfortable wins for Hellgate. The Knights swept the Missoula Big Sky boys and girls on the Eagles’ home floor.

The Knight boys started with a 69-42 victory. Big Sky kept the game close through most of the first half, but the Eagles couldn’t contain Hellgate star Rollie Worster. The sophomore finished with 32 points.

The Hellgate girls followed up with their first victory of the season. The Knights built a double-digit lead in the first half and won 60-39. Shay Evans and Kylie Lunday each scored 13 points to lead Hellgate’s offense.

The game also was surrounded by some controversy. Missoula County Public Schools told MTN Sports in a statement this week that members of the Big Sky girls team were disciplined following the investigation into reported events. MCPS would not explain which players, how many players, how the players were disciplined, or what caused the punishment. Parents have written emails to MTN Sports this week complaining about the way the administration handled the situation.
