BILLINGS – The Wyoming Cowboys play their second straight bowl game Friday afternoon against Central Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Last year the Pokes put together a furious fourth quarter rally in the rain to nearly beat BYU in the Poinsettia Bowl. But Josh Allen’s late interception iced a 24-21 win for the Cougars.

We told you a couple weeks ago Allen says he’ll play in Friday’s game despite being billed by some as a top-round NFL draft pick. Cowboys fans appreciate the effort with some other nationwide players with similar credentials are bailing on their bowl games.

Here’s why Allen is bailing on that theory.

“The way I look at it is, you had 12 other games,” he said. “What’s one more going to do? I understand that it might be a meaningless game. There’s no conference championship on the line. But you know, there’s still a lot at stake here. Going in to our last game, getting our 8th win. It helps out with recruiting, it helps with out the whole conference. So it’s a game that there is a lot on the line, and not many people really take account for that.”
