KALISPELL – Bozeman and Kalispell Glacier played two thrilling Class AA non-conference games on Wednesday night. The Hawks came back to win the boys game. Then the Wolfpack came back to win the girls contest.

The boys game started the night with a rematch of last year’s state championship game, won by Glacier. The Wolfpack held a slim lead after a back-and-fourth game in the final minute. But Bozeman tied the game, and then Ryan Simpson hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds left to put the Hawks ahead 47-44.

Glacier’s Brec Rademacher answered with an off-balance contested 3-pointer with only four seconds left to tie the game back up. But after a timeout, Glacier fouled Mack Anderson on the ensuing inbounds pass. The Bozeman star and future Montana Grizzly hit one of two free throws to give the lead back to the Hawks. Glacier’s final shot from beyond half court missed, and Bozeman stole a win in Kalispell, 48-47.

The girls game that followed almost provided the same drama. Bozeman led for most of the first three quarters, but never by much.

Then Glacier scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to grab the lead. Bozeman had a chance in the final seconds to win or tie, but the Wolfpack held on for a 47-45 victory.

Glacier now takes a long Christmas break. The Wolfpack won’t return to the court until Jan. 6. Bozeman travels to Missoula Sentinel for another boys and girls doubleheader starting at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
