GREAT FALLS – In a match-up of two of the top AA contenders, Great Falls High won the points that mattered in a 33-31 dual win over Bozeman.

The Hawks were strong in the lighter weights, earning a decision from Tayt Rodgers and pins from Leif Schroeder and Sterling Quinn to take a 15-6 lead early. A forfeit at 132 cut the lead to 15-12 entering the 138 matchup. That’s where Great Falls High’s Jack Dresel scored a dramatic pin while trailing on points to set the tone for the rest of the Bison.

Chance McLean and Keegan Mulhill picked up expected wins to put the Hawks up 25-18. Then defending champion Jordan Komac answered with a decision at 160, followed by an 8-4 win from Bison freshman Elijah Davis at 170.

Great Falls High trailed 25-24 entering a pivotal match at 182. Tied 1-1 in the third period, Travis Tomei scored on an escape and held on for a crucial 2-1 decision over Brandon Cooper. Alan Larocque added a pin at 2015 to put Great Falls High up 33-25 and seal the dual win.
