BILLINGS – The Rocky Mountain College men’s basketball team got 52 points combined from Jared Samuelson and Latrelle Franklin to pick up a 95-87 road win over Montana State University Billings on Saturday night at Alterowitz Gym.
The game was an exhibition for Rocky and the Battlin’ Bears snap a two-game losing streak to MSU Billings (7-3).
Samuelson led the Battlin’ Bears with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Franklin finished with 25 points and eight assists.
Rocky shot 48.6 percent as a team while hitting 6 of 13 from beyond the arc. They scored 50 points in the paint with 13 assists and nine turnovers. They held the Yellowjackets to 43.8 percent from the floor and forced 17 turnovers.
Danny Betcher added 17 points, including a late bucket and foul that basically sealed the Rocky win. Austin Payne scored 12.
Sven Jeuschede had 28 points for the ‘Jackets while Zack Rollins added 21.
Rocky now heads for Arizona where they will pay three games at the Cactus Classic. The trip begins with a game against Menlo on December 17 at noon MT.
