BILLINGS – In their first game in four years without departed all-state point guard RayQuan Evans, the Billings Skyview Falcons showed off their new strategy Friday night, dominating inside in a 60-40 win over Missoula Big Sky.
6’10” junior Zach Schacht provided the play of the night with a two-handed dunk off a baseline feed from Logan DeHaven.
The Falcons move to 1-0 on the young season with the win, and prepare for a big Saturday game with Missoula Hellgate. Tip-off is schedule for 12:00 pm.
Missoula Hellgate 51, Billings Senior 50
Rollie Worster scored 18 points and Dylan Holst converted a key lay-up with four seconds left to give Missoula Hellgate a 51-50 win at Billings Senior Friday night.
Holst finished with 11 points, while Bridger Deden added 15 as the Knights held off Senior in a game that never featured a double-digit lead.
Senior will host Missoula Sentinel Saturday at 12:00 pm.
Missoula Sentinel 64, Billings West 62
Sam Beighle intercepted a pass and went coast-to-coast for the game-winning layup with 2.5 seconds left Friday night to give Missoula Sentinel a thrilling 64-62 win over Billings West in the Golden Dome.
West tried to hold for the last shot, running 30 seconds off the clock before getting into their offense, but Beighle’s steal turned the tables in an instant. West’s last-second desperation shot rimmed out.
The Bears led 34-27 at the half after winning the second quarter 22-11, but Sentinel tied the game late but Beighle’s heroics.
West will host Missoula Big Sky Saturday at 12:00 pm.
