The following weekend, MSUB softball will host their skills camp on Saturday and Sunday, the 20th and 21st, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the lower gym of the MSUB Physical Education building.
All participants are asked to bring their own gear for their respective positions as well as indoor tennis shoes and a water bottle. Pitchers do not need to bring their own catcher.
Pitchers will be introduced to basic and advanced pitching mechanics as they work to improve their consistency, velocity, spin and movement. Catchers will work on stance, framing, blocking, throwing and bunt coverage with the goal of improving their ability to lead from behind the plate.
During the skills camp, MSUB’s coaching staff and players will instruct participants on batting and throwing mechanics as well as positon specific skills. Players will also be introduced to advanced concepts in offensive and defensive strategy and learn the drills the Yellowjackets use to improve throughout the season.
The camps will be led by the Yellowjacket coaching staff and players. The one-day pitching and catching camp cost $70 while the two-day skills camp is $90, players may attend both camps. For more information and to register contact head coach Jessica Rayman at (406) 657-2398 or email@example.com.
