MISSOULA — Levi Janacaro, the do-everything star quarterback at Missoula Big Sky, is staying in the Garden City to play college football.

Janacaro, who played quarterback and linebacker at Big Sky but was recruited without a position, announced Wednesday on Twitter that he’s committing to play for the Montana Grizzlies. He wrote, “Extremely blessed, honored, and proud to announce that I am going to further my football and academic career at University of Montana! I thank God for this opportunity along with my parents, coaches and anyone else who has helped me along the way in this journey!!”

Janacaro, 6-foot, 218 pounds, earned first-team all-state honors this past season after rushing for 1,952 and 29 touchdowns. He also threw for 1,257 yards and 10 touchdowns in helping lead Big Sky to an 8-2 regular-season record and No. 2 seed for the Class AA state playoffs. The Eagles lost their first-round game to crosstown rival Missoula Sentinel.
