JACKSON, TN — A shorthanded MSU-Northern Skylights team closed the prestigious Rotary Classic tournament in Jackson, TN with a 74-69 overtime loss to Martin Methodist.

Once again, Jacy Thompson led all scorers with 24 points and nine rebounds while playing all 45 minutes of the contest. Peyton Filius added 17 points and Brandy Lambourne scored 15 for the Skylights, with both playing the duration of the game as well. Only eight players saw the court for Northern.

MSU-Northern led 62-57 with under a minute left to play in the game after a pair of free throws from Filius, but the Redhawks scored twice in the final ten seconds to tie game at 62 at the end of regulation.

Martin Methodist (7-3) outscored Northern 12-7 in the extra frame to send the Skylights (5-3) back to Montana winless at the tournament.

The Skylights return to the Armory in Havre on Friday, Dec. 1 to host Rocky Mountain College for the start of Frontier conference play.
