JACKSON, TN – The No. 21 MSU-Northern Skylights fell behind big early against No. 6 Campbellsville, and fell short after a comeback attempt 68-59 at the Rotary Classic in Jackson, TN.

The Tigers led 35-22 at halftime and jumped out to a 41-22 lead to start the third quarter. The Skylights clawed back to within seven points on a pair of free throws from Jacy Thompson with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter but never got any closer.

Thompson, a senior from Townsend, led the Skylights with 19 points and six rebounds. Reigning Frontier Player of the Week Peyton Filius added 15 points and five assists, with Brandy Lambourne pitching in 12 points and six assists. Savannah Gregory led the Tigers with 19 points.

The Skylights were playing with a depleted roster, with leading scorer Shiloh McCormick sitting out with an injury. MSU-Northern falls to 5-2 on the season and will face (RV) Martin Methodist Saturday at 2 p.m.
