HELENA – Helena High multi-sport athlete Jamie Pickens has decided to take her talents to the University of Montana women’s basketball program.

“I’m super excited. It’s a great feeling just knowing you’re going to play for the school you’ve always wanted to play for. Just knowing you’ve reached that goal because of hard work and staying humble,” the 6-foot-3 junior said with a smile about her decision. “It’s going to be great. My eighth-grade year I started playing with Shelby Schweyen (daughter of Lady Griz head coach Shannon Schweyen) and her sister, so since then it’s kind of been part of a long journey of them just talking to me a little bit and friendships like that. When I go to U-of-M in Missoula there is no feeling I get anywhere else. It’s honestly irreplaceable.”
