CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tres Tinkle was the epitome of efficiency on Saturday night. He shot 7-11, including 3-6 from downtown, as he finished with 20 points. Tinkle also added four rebounds and four assists in Oregon State’s 89-81 victory over Long Beach State.

The Beavers shot a sizzling 55 percent from the floor and got to the foul line 29 times. A big part of Oregon State’s success came from feeding the ball inside, as they racked up 46 points in the paints compared to just 28 for Long Beach State. The 49ers were held to 44 percent shooting, but their nine 3s kept them within striking distance.

Bryan Alberts led the way for the 49ers with 19 points while Barry Ogalue added 17. Both teams will be playing in the AdvoCare Invitational in Orlando over Thanksgiving, leaving the possibility of a rematch ahead.
