BILLINGS – As Montana State University Billings volleyball continues to build, head coach Casey Williams announced the signing of Eavan Taylor to the Yellowjacket’s 2018 class on Friday. Taylor will come to Montana after attending L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. She will join Izela Alvarez and Katie Campbell as the third Texan on the team.

“Eavan is an experienced attacker and blocker that has the ability to swing on both the pins and in the middle,” Williams said of the recruit. “She is a dynamic player that also brings a great personality to the court.”

The 6-foot-2 Taylor played middle blocker, middle hitter and outside hitter during her four years at L.V. Berkner High School 15 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas. She has been recognized as a first team all-city performer during all four years with the Rams. Taylor finished her prep career with first team-all district recognition her junior and senior years after being an honorable mention as a sophomore and earning second team honors as a freshman.

In her final season, Taylor was tabbed a team captain and named the team MVP. She led the Rams in kills all four years and paced the team in blocks during her first three seasons before making the move to outside hitter as a senior.

“When I visited MSUB everything just felt right,” Taylor said of joining the ‘Jackets. “The people were happy, energetic and excited to be there. I felt like I had an instant connection with the players on the team and after three days at camp I felt I had made great friends. MSUB feels like a family that is welcoming with open arms and I could not be more excited to be a part of it.”
