KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the final regular season poll today. Montana Tech moved up one spot to No. 14 in the final Women’s Volleyball Coaches Top 25 Poll.

The Orediggers (22-8) received the Frontier Conference automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament after winning the conference tournament over the weekend. In the championship match, Tech defeated No. 23 Rocky Mountain College in five sets. The
Diggers defeated Rocky for the third time this season.

Tech has spent the entire season in the Coaches’ Top 25. The No. 14 spot is the highest Tech has reached in the Poll. The Orediggers started the 2017 season ranked No. 14 in the preseason edition of the national poll. Tech fell to No. 17 in the first regular season poll and slowly climbed back to their current spot. No. 14 is the highest for a Tech team under sixth-year head coach Brian Solomon.

With the automatic bid, Tech reaches the final site of the NAIA National Tournament for the second straight year. The Diggers had a home play-in match last season but will instead go straight to Sioux City, Iowa. The pools for the National Tournament will be released next week. Pool play starts on November 28th.
