GREAT FALLS – Longtime Great Falls High boys basketball coach Bob Howard is excited to announce a boys and girls basketball preseason jamboree for elementary and middle school athletes on Nov. 11 and 12 at the Swarthout Fieldhouse.

“This will be a round-robin tournament designed to get the travel season started,” said Howard. “No one has had much, if any practice, and this serves as a season opener for most of the teams.”

Athletes from grades 3-8 are encouraged to attend the tournament, which will have brackets set up based on gender and grade level. Howard says he hopes to have 20-25 teams compete each day, with the boys playing on Saturday, Nov. 11 and the girls hitting the courts the following day. The entry fee is $165 per team.

Each team will be guaranteed three games at the Great Falls High Fieldhouse. Contests will consist of two 20-minute halves with a running clock, minus free throws and the final two minutes of each half. High school rules will be enforced, though there will be full-court press and zone defense restrictions in grades 3-6.
