HELENA – Manhattan cross country dominated in the Class B state championships in Helena on Saturday, bringing both the boys and girls team titles. The Tigers’ Zak Meeker also won the individual state championship in 17 minutes, 03.75 seconds.

But for Manhattan, it was more about the journey to the state titles than the actual hardware itself.

“Just being here with this group of kids, and I know it sounds cheesy and no one really believes that when you say it, but this is an amazing group of kids,” said Tigers head coach John Sillitti. “Just the experience of being here, the experience of the season, that was more valuable than the end result. But we’ll take the state championships, too.”
