HELENA – Helena Capital offensive lineman Carson Shuman might have not grown up a Washington State football fan, but he will be from here on out as the Bruin senior will be heading to Pullman in the fall to play football.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Shuman was recruited as a preferred walk-on for the PAC-12 team, choosing WSU over offers from both Carroll College and Montana Tech. He says it was a decision that didn’t come easily but it’s an opportunity he’s excited to take advantage of.
“I think if I didn’t take the chance, I don’t want to regret anything, you know? I want to go there and I think I can play there. I wanted to take that chance,” Shuman said. “The team at junior days, I liked how they seemed like they were brothers, and they seemed like they were all good friends and I love Pullman. Pullman just has the small-town feel and I like living in a small town. The first time I went there, like I said, it felt like home.”
