LEWISTON, Idaho – Rocky Mountain College’s Amanda Conner holds the opening-round lead at the Lewis-Clark State Warrior Invitational at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club. The freshman from Irwin, Penn. holds a one-stroke lead after Monday’s 18 holes.

Conner, a freshman for the Battlin’ Bears, shot 36-38 for a Round 1 total of 74. The 2-over-par is good to lead L-C State’s Allison Kadinger by a single stroke. LCSC’s Marissa Louder is tied for third with teammate Blake Greenup and Rocky’s Eryn Ellis at five over.

Frontier Conference women’s golfer of the week Gina Kowalchuk is tied for sixth with a 78.

Lewis-Clark State’s Shaun Harpin leads the men’s field with a 3-under-par 69. Teammate Brandon Barnes and Montana Tech’s Sean Benson shot identical 35-35 to score two under in the round. University of Providence’s Cody Babinecz sits in fourth place at one over, holding a two-stroke advantage over a five-way tie for fifth.
