KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chuck Morrell and the Montana Tech football program climbed one spot in the latest NAIA coaches poll. The Orediggers are now the No. 5 team in the country after posting wins over Carroll College and MSU-Northern.

Morrell’s latest victory, a 70-27 thrashing of MSU-Northern, saw the Orediggers set numerous program records. The 70 points were a single-game high for Montana Tech, as Quinn McQueary totaled 465 yards of offense, breaking a 21-year-old program record. McQueary was named the Frontier Conference and NAIA offensive player of the week after scoring four passing touchdowns and two rushing TDs.

Montana Western dropped out of the Top 25 poll, but the Bulldogs join Rocky Mountain College in receiving votes. Eastern Oregon fell four spots to No. 11 while Southern Oregon climbed from 25th to No. 14 in the polls.
