FAIRFIELD – Missoula Loyola defeated Fairfiield in the Class B football playoffs last year.
The Eagles returned the favor in a nonconference game on Friday, running away from the Rams 34-10.
After falling behind 3-0 at the end of the first quarter, Fairfield scored 34 unanswered points, thanks to an aggressive defense and big-play offense. Keeley Bake had two interceptions for the Fairfield defense, both of which set up Eagles touchdowns. Libien Becker scored a 23-yard touchdown after Bake’s first pick, and Dawson Allen caught a 95-yard touchdown pass from Ryder Meyer after Bake’s second INT.
Meyer, who found Allen for another touchdown in the fourth quarter, also added a 34-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter that gave Fairfield its first lead. Griffen Lee added a four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter after he recovered a Loyola fumble.
Fairfield improves to 2-0 on the season, while Missoula Loyola, which has faced a daunting nonconference schedule, falls to 1-2.
