GREAT FALLS — The high school football season is just one week old, and we’ve already seen some incredible performances.

The nod for KRTV Athlete of the Week goes to Choteau’s Jonathan Moore. The senior quarterback ran for four touchdowns on 197 yards rushing and added a pick-6 in the Bulldogs’ 38-0 shutout of Chinook on Saturday in his first ever 8-Man game.

What’s more, he broke his leg in the middle of the 2016 season when the Bulldogs struggled to a 1-8 record. Needless to say, Moore’s Bulldog teammates are glad to have him back in the lineup.

“It is nice,” said lineman Dakota Daley. “We didn’t have a great season last year, but after that everything just spiraled downhill. With him back, we’re going to be up on top of our game again.”

“It’s about toughness really,” Moore told us earlier this month about returning from injury. “Coming to practice and you got to be ready to play every time. Without toughness, we’re nothing really.”

Choteau (1-0) will hit the road to face Simms (0-1) on Friday at 7 p.m.
